Getting Started

I have never been terribly excited about new experiences. Sometimes I make an exception, if I think its worth the risk, but venturing into the unknown is not something I regularly seek out. But I do love learning, although I prefer to learn from someone who has already ventured out into the unknown, rather than trust that I can find my own way.

Stepping out into the world of blogging has never frightened me per se, but I have always hesitated to begin, mostly because I have never tried. But now, after years of delaying any sort of beginning, I find myself unable to ask for help getting started because my friends are now so much further into this process that it is too painfully elementary for them to help me. So it is I find myself beginning this, not so much on my own, because wordpress has lots of resources, but beginning this without someone standing over my shoulder shaking their head and telling me I am doing it painfully slow. So here I go.

I have setup this site for one basic reason: evangelization. The pope encouraged the people of God to embrace the media resources in front of them to share the gospel to all, and so I am trying that. Doesn’t that sound noble?

Honestly though, someone asked me if my homilies would ever be accessible AND bought me a digital recorder, so at this point I am simply riding high off the compliment thought since they were willing to put in a little work to make it happen, so should I. Thus I don’t know how much I will write up here, but I do intend to make this the access point to my homilies. Whether that proves to be for good or for ill, only time will tell.
